ICE, Boston, Federal Partners, Arrest Honduran National After 2 Deportations, Multiple Previous Charges
U S Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Research FBI and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives ATF arrested a Honduran national on April in Brockton Massachusetts The individual identified as -year-old Oscar Lopez-Perez had illegally reentered the United States after being deported twice previously Lopez-Perez has a criminal history in Massachusetts including a conviction for assault and battery and charges for operating a conveyance under the influence of alcohol He was taken into custody by ICE Boston with promotion from FBI Boston and ATF Boston and is now being held by ICE Source ICE Long Record of Illegal Entries and Deportations Lopez-Perez s immigration violations date back to May when he was first arrested by U S Boundary Patrol USBP after entering the country illegally Although he was issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge records show he had already been ordered removed by a Department of Justice immigration judge on September On July the Brockton District Court convicted him of assault and battery ICE arrested him again on October based on his prior removal order and he was deported to Honduras on January Just four months later Lopez-Perez was apprehended again by Confines Patrol on May following another unauthorized reentry ICE enforced his deportation once more on May At a few point after this Lopez-Perez reentered the United States yet again this time undetected without inspection or legal authorization On September the Stoughton District Court arraigned him for driving under the influence and negligent operation of a motorcycle ICE Cites Society Safety Concerns Patricia H Hyde acting field office director for ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston emphasized the agency s commitment to community safety Oscar Lopez-Perez has displayed a complete disregard for U S immigration laws by illegally reentering the country after being previously deported she announced Additionally he has presented a key threat to the residents of Massachusetts Hyde affirmed that ICE Boston will continue to focus on removing individuals who pose risks to local communities We will continue to prioritize constituents safety by arresting and removing criminal alien offenders from our neighborhoods she added Populace Encouraged to Review Suspicious Activity ICE encourages members of the community to overview criminal activity or suspicious behavior Tips can be submitted by calling -DHS- -ICE - - or through the agency s online tip form Lopez-Perez remains in ICE custody as bureaucrats continue the enforcement process Personnel have not disclosed when or how he last reentered the country only confirming that he did so without undergoing inspection by immigration administrators
